Founder of The Hairstylist’s Guide and Owner of Salon Hue, Shana McLoud brings over fifteen years of experience behind the chair alongside nine years of owning her own salon studio.

She was inspired to create The Hairstylist’s Guide as a much-needed resource for a gap that she saw in the beauty industry.

Before The Hairstylist's Guide existed, Shana felt there was no real place to go for help, growth, and advice for independent stylists.

As she puts it, when you work independently, you miss out on a level of collaboration.

“You don’t have people around to bounce ideas off of, I wanted a space for that.”

That epiphany set Shana off on the journey to develop The Hairstylist’s Guide eBook, because when she opened her own salon studio, she had no idea what do or how to get started.

Over the past nine years, Shana has had to learn many things the hard way and wants other stylists who are looking to set off on their own to glean knowledge from her business mistakes and successes.

Furthermore, she wanted to develop a community for stylists where everyone could work together to map out goals and solve issues collectively.
